Human A Destructive Entity

“The aliens had come to Earth with a mission to save us from ourselves,but as I watched the world crumble around me,I couldn’t help but wonder if we were truly worth saving.” The year is 2978. Earth,was inhabited by people. The planet is now dominated by the towering skyscrapers and bustling cities that humans have built over the centuries. The air is thick with the fumes of industry and the hum of machines and giant robots. The population has soared to several trillion,and the land has been partitioned into various sectors. The once vibrant ecosystems have been destroyed,leaving behind only remnants of what once was. Most of the wild animals have gone extinct. The few that remain are kept in zoos or wildlife preserves. Humans are the only ones who have managed to adapt to the new environment,thanks to artificial oxygen. This man-made oxygen kept them alive,but it also reduced life expectancy. The average lifespan is now 50 years.
