Aide-Momories 1943-1954

The book is a collection of articles,each a self-contained narrative on a particular subject. The subjects are places,people and events of the past when I was a child and a boy,memories of which still linger in mind,some vivid,some faded. The remembrance of things past,as Proust so lyrically expressed,begins from 1943 when my age was near about four and I became conscious about myself and the surrounding world for the first time. It was a small world seen mostly through a window,as it happens with most children,and the wonder and excitement of the first experience through the five senses became the beginning of my memory.
